Henry's Bar Mitzvah

Saturday, August 22, 2026 - Sunday, August 23, 2026

Shabbat Morning Service

Please join us as Henry is called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah.

There is no specific dress code. Males are not required to wear a suit and/or jacket (some will), but dress pants and a collared shirt are fine. For females, it is recommended for their dress or top to cover their shoulders and skirts to be modest in length. Many of the kids wear athletic shoes.

Men are asked to follow the custom of wearing a head covering called a kippah during the service. Wearing a kippah is not a symbol of religious identification, but is rather an act of respect to the sacredness of the place of worship. Just as men or women may be asked to remove their hats in the church, or remove their shoes before entering a mosque, wearing a head covering is a non-denominational act of showing respect. We will have customized kippah's for Henry's Bar Mitzvah available at the synagogue. Head coverings are available for women including the kippah.

Maintaining sanctity: All guests and participants are expected to respect the sanctity of the prayer service and Shabbat by setting their phones to silent or turning them off, refraining from checking messages or texting, and not taking pictures, both during the service and afterward at the Kiddush lunch. If your child is attending the service, please remind them that no phone use is allowed in the synagogue on Shabbat. If you need to use your phone, please plan to step outside the building and away from the front door.

Kiddush Luncheon

A celebratory luncheon will immediately follow the service.
